O Lord Hear My Prayer (D7)

O Lord Hear My Prayer (D7)

“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people” (Ephesians. 1:18)

“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans” (Romans 8:26)

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful” (Colossians 4:2)

During this time of solitude, we are in a very important season of prayer. Be encouraged by the above verses to persevere in your prayers, realizing God uses them to bless everyone in his transforming grace. We may not see anything for a while, but our faith grows in the crucible of patience, perfecting us as we experience every answer comes in God’s perfect time! I trust the following reflection will bless you in the days to come!

May we who are inconvenienced, remember those whose lives are at stake.
May we who have no risk factors, remember the most vulnerable.
May we who have the luxury of working from home, remember those who must choose between their health or making the rent.
May we who have flexibility to care for our children when their schools close, remember those who have no options.
May we who have to cancel our trips, remember those that have no safe place to go.
May we who are losing our margin money in the tumult of the economic market, remember those that have no margin at all.
May we who settle in for a quarantine at home, remember those who have no home.
As fear grips our country, let us choose LOVE.
During this time when we cannot physically wrap our arms around each other, let us find ways to be the loving embrace of God to our neighbors. Amen.
