My Guitar Gently Weeps (D34)

“The scribes and the pharisees caught a woman in adultery. They made her stand before the group and said to Jesus, ‘This woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the law Moses commanded us to stone such women. What do you say?’ They were using this question as a trap in order to have a basis for accusing him. But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, ‘Let any one of you who is without sin, be the first to throw a stone at her” (John 8:3-9)

The story ends with the eldest leaving first and then the rest. Since the community hasn’t condemned her, neither will Jesus, who then encourages her to leave her life of sin. The only sinless person who could have started the rock throwing party, but chose not to, was Jesus.

The loving heart and redeeming presence of Jesus has no limits. I’ve listened to “While my Guitar Gently Weeps” many times, but I only understood it after watching Santana’s version below. Truth filled words….Redeeming Lives!
